All aboard for a Highland fling.... Country Life, 12 August 200916th Aug 09
Country Life's annual Scottish issue includes a major feature by Kathryn Bradley-Hole on the pleasures of travelling through the Highlands in the Royal Scotsman train. She had revelled in the luxury of this "locomotive jewel of the Orient Express luxury travel company", enjoying the wonderful selection of glorious gardens and homes that she and her fellow-travellers had visited.
She appreciated the unique opportunity of small personal tours round a variety of memorable and historic houses and gardens including the "luxuriant and atmospheric 20-acre gardens" here at Attadale. "A long water garden lining the drive and fed by springs is one of the loveliest in Britain, with its waterlilies and rich streamside plantings, set against the mountainous of the western Highlands" form part of her description
